Post 1- Thing #1- Reflections on Lifelong Learning

Hello friends! Here is my first attempt at blogging! It should be interesting!

Watching the video about the 7 1/2 Habits of Effective Lifelong Learners I thought about my most challenging habit and I think it is a tie with procrastination and fear. I'm afraid to make mistakes and get into something over my head, so I tend to put it off for another day as if something magical will happen and it will be easier because I waited!!! That shows me the most important habit is to conquer the fear and not procrastinate! It's so easy to say but hopefully this class will help force me into better habits by being accountable to a group. The easiest habit for me is learning something new. Whether it is languages, sewing, painting, traveling, etc. I love to experience new ideas and ways of doing things! And, yes, that does include blogging!

  2. Believe me, after you really get started with this there is no way that you will be able to procrastinate. Hopefully you will have fun and you won't worry about making mistakes.

  3. When I first started this course, I was terrified to get started. Once I made it through the first few things, though, I figured out that eventually I could mess around long enough to finally get it done. And, along the way, there were several "things" that turned out to be really easy (even for a non-techno person like me. Now I am only 7 things away from finishing. Starting is the hardest part. A couple of times, I did skip a "thing" and come back to it after I did another thing to get some momentum going. Most of the things are in a certain order so you can't always do this but it helped me when I could. By the way, your blog looks great! It's very eye-catching.
